Question: Is it possible to bring your own food?
Answer: Yes, you can bring your own food and eat in the Park.
WE PRESENT: It is not legal tobring disposable grills into the park. Regardless of the area you want to grill. This is because there may be a fire hazard in our fine and fragile park and area where a large number of animals live in locked enclosures. We have the right to expel the customer if we register this.
WE DON'T WANT A FIRE HERE.
We have therefore established fixed barbecue areas for our visitors to use, and we sell charcoal packs and matches in the Kiosk, in the Fjellstua and in our souvenir shop in the entrance. You can, of course, bring your own charcoal for your own use to our fixed grills.
Safety and cleaning up after your own barbecues is now your priority. Waste, such as plastic, bag clips, snuff pads, used cigarettes: use our set-up bins for it. Also along the way when you walk in the park.
Our free-range birds and animals think it's edible. Then they can die from it. Please dispose of your waste in our several nearby bins. Thank you for doing so.
We expect our visitors to respect this!

Question: How do I know the animals are doing well?
Answer: We train all our animals with the concept of positive reinforcement. Cuddles when they need it, and good food and care. This is how the animals learn best and become most confident. All our animals are trained to volunteer for medical treatment. We are a park where they will live in their own element, without people having access into the enclosure to get closer. Except for agreed admissions for visits with smaller animals. These are wild animals. The training project is new and it will increase animal welfare considerably. Our enclosures for our animals are large and wide, so outside of feeding times they may be in a place where you can't see them. During feeding times, you are guaranteed to meet them. See info about feeding times under animal presentations. Ask one of our skilled zookeepers if you want to know more about it!

Question: Are dogs allowed in the park?
Answer: No, it is not allowed to bring dogs into the park. Regardless of size. Because we have various birds that walk freely in the park, and all kinds of animals that should not be disturbed by your dog. Not least a possible risk of infection/diseases that our animals should not be exposed to. We have therefore established a dog yard for our visitors with 10 enclosures + dog houses where you can leave your dog. They get their own house. You register with your phone number and name before entering and rent the lock at the reception for NOK 150,- per day. You get NOK 50 back when you return the lock and key to us at reception. Then we can also contact you as the owner of the dog during your stay if anything happens.
Rules:
It is otherwise forbidden to use our cages for dogs, unless the Park administration allows this.
We regularly check the area as a security and accountability for our already housed dogs. Established camera surveillance. All cages have a number and their own key.Failure to hand in the key and final signing after use will result in a fine of NOK 500.
Ps. You are probably responsible for keeping an eye on the dog during your stay and giving it water or food. Sometimes they need you to come by and say hello and give cuddles. You have free access in and out of the park the entire day of your visit. Leave the dog's own blanket before locking it in, perhaps? For the dog, it's a strange place and they're looking for their owner. And several other dogs can become neighbors. We have a water point, a dog house, and water bowls have been established. In principle, enclosures/cages cannot be pre-booked in high season. But let us know at the reception in Familieparken if this can completely disrupt your travel schedule. We have 10 cages, and all are rarely occupied. If possible, we can then set aside a cage for you in advance on an exact date. Notify us about it: jk@familieparken.no. This will then entail a booking fee of NOK 500, which you will receive back from us when you arrive at the agreed time.

We collect everything we find left behind both during the day and every evening after closing. It is placed continuously in the reception at the entrance to the Family Park under lost and found. Ask or call us at the hotel tel. +47 743 33 600 if there is anything you are missing after your visit. We may be able to arrange forwarding if we know your name, address and telephone number, or a picture of the lost item. Then you only pay the postage. Can be skipped.
